Science Destinations History

Science Destinations began during the summer of 1989. And, has run continuously since. The number of students participating varies, depending on the session. For local one-day trips, the average class size is 25 students. For trips away from home, class size varies from 20 to 35 students. The number of students per session depends on where we are traveling to. If enrollment is limited for a specific session, it will so be stated with the number of students indicated. We maintain a ratio of at least one teacher for every ten students.
We always have female and male teachers to accommodate and support the gender distribution of participating students. The number of sessions for each summer ranges from 5 to 6. Generally, the program begins during the last week of June and ends within the first week of August each year.
