Trips Away From Home
Our past travels have taken us to Mexico, Canada, Guayaquil, Ecuador, The Galapagos Islands, Midway Atoll, South Africa, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Texas, and Alaska. We have been to a number of these states as many as five times, such as Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Florida. When we are away, students maintain contact with home. Generally, telephone calls are made during the evenings after dinner.

Parents also maintain contact with their children by telephone, letters
and faxes. Some parents go above and beyond the call of duty and send
care packages. We discourage this practice because of the items that
are generally sent, candy, gum and crumbly food. During the past
fourteen years we have not had any emergencies. A head cold or
homesickness is uncommon.
